Welcome to the Editors' blog. This is where we will pop in regularly to keep you all, both readers and writers, up to date with what’s happening here on ‘The Conflict Project’.
What is conflict?
The Oxford dictionary defines conflict as: ‘A serious disagreement or argument, typically a protracted one’.
Conflict comes naturally; the clashing of thoughts and ideas is a part of the human experience. Taking a look into what causes conflict can help us understand this phenomenon even more. Conflict can be seen as an opportunity to learn and understand our differences.
The Conflict Project uncovers the truth behind rivalries happening in the world today. Our journalists’ investigations range from flat earth conspirators questioning science, to the persecution of modern day witchcraft and Britain’s conflict with Europe.
Day one
I am Natalie, your Editor for today. It’s been a vibrant atmosphere in the newsroom since this morning. Everyone has been tapping away at their laptops planning for the next few weeks ahead. We have been planning and researching topics varying from divorce, gender-neutral toilets, drugs, homelessness, conflict of young Muslims living in a western society, student conflict in halls of residence, the women’s debate, millennials vs the world, mental health, parents and teacher conflict, just to list a few… The team have been emailing divorce lawyers, politicians through to astronomers, all in preparation for the grand reveal of ‘The Conflict Project’.
Our new website ‘The Conflict Project’ which is currently under construction, is being built, designed and edited by our very own designer Hesham Abdelhamid. The site will be launched on Thursday 13th December which will be viewable for all you keen readers.
The Editors' blog will be released each news-day along with new social media content on our Twitter and Facebook feeds. Watch this space to find out more on the development of these compelling conflict stories.
